The Robertson Creek project near Port Alberni, BC officially began in 1960, and it continues to be an asset to salmon enhancement. Today, they produce 150,000 adult chinook, 100,000 coho and 10,000 steelhead each year. The chinook production statistics listed in the upper right corner of the painting, illustrate the hatcheries success rate over 35 years. The topographical map of Barkley Sound and grid system in the background, help navigate the viewer and hatchery fish into the Sound and Alberni inlet.
